Congregation Beth Shalom to Install Rabbi Jacki Honig as Assistant Rabbi
Congregation Beth Shalom will celebrate the installation of Rabbi Jacki Honig as Assistant Rabbi on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Rabbi Honig joined the congregation in July 2025 and has quickly become a dynamic presence in the spiritual and communal life of CBS.
“Rabbi Honig is deeply committed to nurturing Jewish spiritual connection and inspiring individuals of all ages to discover joy and purpose in Jewish living,” said Sue Lampert, President of Congregation Beth Shalom. “Her scholarship, warmth, and dedication have already strengthened our community in meaningful ways.”
A graduate of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, Rabbi Honig previously served as a rabbinic intern at Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles and worked as the Social Justice Project Manager at the Rabbinical Assembly. She has also held leadership roles in United Synagogue Youth USY) and Ramah camps.
Since arriving at CBS, Rabbi Honig has infused new energy into Ruach Shabbat services and Simchat Torah celebrations, teaches adult education classes, and plays an active role in congregational life. She has also prioritized building personal connections, meeting one-on-one with congregants over coffee as she gets to know the community more deeply.
“Rabbi Honig brings boundless joy, wisdom, and deep Torah to every aspect of her work,” said Rabbi David Chapman, Senior Rabbi. “As our first female clergy member, she honors our traditions while helping to shape our future.”
