Six-story apartment building with 125 one- and two-bedroom units, offers a retirement lifestyle that allows older people to maintain a greater level of health, dignity and independence. Offering comfort, style and companionship, Gidwitz provides residents with housekeeping and basic personal care, restaurant-style Kosher meals, and a wide range of educational, social, cultural and holiday programs. Staff is on premises 24 hours a day, including a registered nurse during daytime hours. Amenities include a cafe, mini-mart, beauty/barber shop, library, fitness and wellness centers, synagogue and meeting rooms, and beautifully landscaped grounds for walking. Trips to stores, special events and sites of special interest are part of the regular schedule of activities. Respite Care for family caregivers is offered at reasonable daily rates.

Jewish Enrichment Center

The Jewish Enrichment Center is a laboratory school that raises a child's voice in Jewish learning. Since 2011, we've run an independent Sunday and afterschool in Hyde Park, Chicago, where children are co-creators of Judaism. The Jewish Enrichment Center is recognized nationally as an exceptional model of deep, personalized Jewish children's learning. At the Jewish Enrichment Center, children ask questions, generate ideas, and bring Jewish texts to life for themselves. Using art and drama and clay, children dialogue with peers and with our ancient tradition, simultaneously growing their Jewish literacy as well as skills for critical and creative thinking and compassionate listening. Our environment teaches children to pursue dignity for all humanity. Now open for infant/toddlers through middle school.
