Weddings
Halle

Halle Ritter and Scott Levy were married Nov. 5, 2011, at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago. Rabbi Taron Tachman from Congregation Beth Tikvah in Hoffman Estates performed the ceremony.

Halle, 36, is the director of the Open Door Program for the Illinois Department of Human Services.  She is a graduate from Ohio University (BS, Communication) and the University of Michigan (Master of Social Work).  Halle was a member of the YLD Board of Directors for four years.   Scott, 33, is a manager at the Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Center, a U.S. Department of Labor facility serving 350 at-risk youth.  He is a graduate of The George Washington University (BA, Political Science) and Roosevelt University (MBA, Management).    

Halle is the daughter of Nadia and Michael Ritter, of Beachwood, Ohio. Scott is the son of Debby Levy, of Long Grove, and the late Barry W. Levy. The reception was held at the Palmer House, with entertainment provided by The Ken Arlen Orchestra. Floral decorations were provided by Richard Remiard Event Design and photography was provided by Rick Aguilar Studios.  Sue Primer from Sue Primer I Do was the event planner.  The couple enjoyed their honeymoon on Maui and Kauai.

Mysel

Emily Langendorf and Daniel Mysel were married September 24 at the Orrington Hotel in Evanston.  Rabbi/Hazzan Shlomo Shuster performed the ceremony.  Emily, 28 is a Care Consultant at the Alzheimer's Association in Chicago.  She is a graduate from Miami University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Social Work from University of Illinois-Chicago Jane Addams School of Social Work.  Daniel, 26 is a Consultant at Accenture in Chicago.  He is a graduate from University of Colorado-Boulder with a bachelor's degree in Communications.  Emily is the daughter of Sheri and Michael Langendorf, of Urbana, IL. Daniel is the son of Amy and Harvey Mysel of Glencoe, IL. 

 

Greenbaum

Allyson Berman and David Greenbaum were married June 26 at the Westin Hotel in Columbus, Ohio.  Rabbi Misha Zinkow from Temple Israel performed the ceremony.

Allyson, 34, is a graduate of American University and the Cleveland Institute of Music.  She is currently an Associate Director of Major Gifts for Northwestern University. David, 40, is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.  He is currently a Group Account Director at an advertising agency, Euro RSCG.  David was a member of the YLD Board of Directors for four years and was YLD President in 2009-2010.

Allyson is the daughter of Arnold and Marilyn Berman of Columbus, Ohio.  David is the son of Neil and Rachel Greenbaum of Glencoe.  The reception was also held at the Westin.

Allyson and David continued their wedding celebration with their honeymoon in Bali. 

Gavant

Eva Weintraub and Josh Gavant were married Sept.18, at the Midwest Conference Center in Northlake, IL.  Rabbi Asher Lopatin of Congregation Anshe Sholom B'nai Israel in Chicago performed the ceremony.  Josh is a Systems Engineer with Microsoft, Inc., and Eva is a Human Resources Generalist at JUF/JF and a graduate of Rutgers University.  Eva is the daughter of Harvey and Sharon Weintraub of Lincolnwood. Josh is the son of Morris and Ellen Gavant of Baltimore, Maryland. 

 

Bregman

Stefanie Pervos and Michael Bregman were married July 3 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Rabbi Howard Lifshitz and Hazzan Roger Weisberg from Congregation Beth Judea in Long Grove performed the ceremony.
Stefanie, 27, is the associate editor of JUF News and Manager of Digital Communications for the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago.

Michael, 28, is an attorney at the firm of Ruff, Weidenaar & Reidy, Ltd.
Stefanie is the daughter of Dr. Richard and Gayle Pervos of Buffalo Grove. Michael is the son of Harvey and Judith Bregman of Skokie. Stefanie's sister, Lonnie was the maid of honor, and Michael's brother Corey, the best man. Proud grandmothers Barbara Cohen of Buffalo Grove and Ann Pervos of Skokie were also in attendance.

The reception was held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, with entertainment provided by The Larry King Orchestra. Floral decorations were designed and provided by Hello Darling, photography was provided by North Shore Photography, video was provided by Xpress Video Productions, and Bambi Caicedo Rogers from BCR Events was the event planner.

Rubin

Margaret Rubinshteyn and Daniel Lozovatsky were married Jan. 11 in Riviera Maya, Mexico.  Rabbi Tzvi Gluckin formerly of Aish HaTorah performed the ceremony. Margaret received her bachelor's degree at Marquette University in computer science.  She then went on to University of Wisconsin for medical school.   Currently, Margaret is a pediatrician at Highland Park Hospital and is an MD consultant for a medical informatics firm in Chicago.  Daniel received his bachelor's degree in information science from Northeastern University in Boston.  After graduation he worked as a program manager at Microsoft Corporation. Currently, Daniel is a senior business analyst with Bank of America.

Margaret is the daughter of Gregory and Viktoriya Rubinshteyn of Fox Point, Wisconsin.  Daniel is the son of Yakov and Larissa Lozovatsky of Orange, Connecticut. The reception was held at El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

 

Robinson 2

Danielle Robinson and Lior Geft were married Dec. 30, 2010 at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. Rabbi Kalman Topp from Congregation Beth Jacob of Beverly Hills, Calif. performed the ceremony, with the Ketubah read by Rabbi Tzvi Engel of Congregation Or Torah in Skokie, with Cantors Dov Robinson, and Dr Dael Geft crooning.

The couple met at Camp Moshava -Wild Rose in Wisconsin when they were 11 years old. Danielle, 22, received her undergraduate degree in biology from Stern /Yeshiva University and is currently studying nursing at NYU. Lior, 22, received his undergrad degree in English/American literature from New York University, and will be attending University of Chicago Law beginning Sept. 2012.

Danielle is the daughter of Elliott and Ronni Robinson of Skokie. Lior is the son of Dr. Ivor and Liebe Geft of Beverly Hills, Calif.. The reception was held at the Chicago Hilton and Towers with dairy catering by Danziger, where family and friends were entertained with insane dancing into the wee hours of the night.

 

Roten3

Emily Anne Engel and David Michael Rotenberg were married Sept. 5 at Congregation Adath Jeshurun in Minnetonka, Minn. The ceremony was performed by Rabbi Harold Kravitz with sheva brachot sung by Cantors Abelson and Buchner. Emily earned an MBA from University of Chicago in 2009 and is an economist at the Federal Reserve in Chicago. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Kendall College. David earned his J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School in 2004 and works at a private equity firm in Northbrook. The couple currently resides in Chicago. Emily is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Engel of Hopkins, Minn. and David is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Morry Rotenberg of Deerfield. Both the bride and groom’s fathers were born on the same date in Europe after World War II to parents of Holocaust survivors. Grandparents Al Kagin of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Evelyn Lamm of Northbrook and Lola Rotenberg of Cleveland all walked down the aisle. The couple honeymooned in South Africa.



Schnitz

Gail Schnitzer Eisenberg and David Eisenberg were married August 1, 2010 at the Hilton Orrington in Evanston, IL. Gail's mother, Rabbi Ora Simon Schnitzer performed the ceremony. Gail, 23, is a law student at Northwestern University Law School She received her master's and bachelor's degrees in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. David, 28, is a Chicago-area attorney specializing in Construction Litigation. He received his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis and his juris doctorate from the University of Illinois School of Law. Gail is the daughter of Rabbi Ora and Dr. David Schnitzer of Highland Park, IL. David is the son of Arnee and Nancy Eisenberg of Wilmette, IL.

Dr. Jeanne Miriam Huff, née Horowitz, and Matthew Robert Huff were married August 1 at The Standard Club in Chicago. Rabbi Michael S. Siegel of Anshe Emet Synagogue performed the ceremony. Dr. Jeanne Miriam Huff, née Horowitz, is a radiologist for Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She is a graduate of Northwestern University College of Arts and Sciences, class of 1999, and New York University School of Medicine, class of 2003. Matthew Robert Huff is a Attorney and Counselor at Law. He is a graduate of Northwestern University College of Arts and Sciences, class of 1999, and Northwestern University School of Law, class of 2002.

Dr. Jeanne Miriam Huff, née Horowitz, is the daughter of Dr. Steven Leslie Horowitz and Dr. Sandra Willner Horowitz of Flossmoor, Illinois. Matthew Robert Huff is the son of Mr. Raymond Lee Huff and Mrs. Linda Elegant Huff of Peoria, Illinois. The reception was held at The Standard Club in Chicago, Illinois.
