Mazel tov to Amy Berger and Andrew Oshman on their marriage, on Oct. 5, 2013. Amy, 31, daughter of Cindy and Alex Berger III of Clayton, Mo., is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and is the Assistant Director of Community Outreach & Leadership Development at JUF. Andrew, 39, son of Tania and Rick Oshman of Houston, is a graduate of Tulane and the NYU Masters in Real Estate program, and is the Director of Capital Markets at General Growth Properties. Their wedding included a cocktail hour in the St. Louis Zoo alongside large snakes and other reptiles. The honeymoon was a safari in Kenya and Tanzania followed by a trip to the beaches of Zanzibar. Rabbi Amy Feder of Temple Israel performed the ceremony.
Mazel tov to Lauren Gaby, 28, of Flossmoor, and Scott Levine, 31, of Arlington Heights on their marriage on Oct. 19 at The Standard Club in Chicago. Lauren, daughter of Lynn and Barry Gaby of Flossmoor, is a graduate of Indiana University. and is employed by Crown Industries in Chicago. Scott, son of Cheryl and Leonard Levine of River Woods, graduated from University of Illinois in Finance, and is employed at Banner Real Estate in Northbrook. Rabbi Paul Caplan from Temple Anshe Sholom in Olympia Fields performed the ceremony.
Mazel tov to Shainah Simone Falk and Brian Matthew Horowitz on their marriage. Shainah, 32, daughter of Jack and Reva Falk of Portland, Ore., has a BS in Criminology and Criminal Justice from DePaul University and is the project manager of volunteer engagement at United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. Brian, 35, son of Paul and Ronnie Horowitz of Northbrook, has a BA in Business from Kendall College and is an advertising strategist at Resolution Media. (Thanks to the bride's father for his Yiddish rendition of "Sweet Home Chicago.") Rabbi Shoshanah Conover, of Temple Sholom, and Rabbi Avi Finegold officiated.
Mazel tov to Shoshana Sprague and David Fain on their marriage on July 21 at the Spertus Institute. Shoshana is the daughter of Dr. Stuart and Denise Sprague of ChicagO. David is the son of Gordon and Lila Fain of Hamden, Connecticut. Sprague, 26, is a teacher at Chicago Jewish Day School. She has undergraduate degrees from Barnard College and the Jewish Theological Seminary, and a masters from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Fain, 29, is a teacher at Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School; he has a BA from U. of Connecticut in psychology and a MA in Jewish Education from Hebrew College and Pardes in Israel. Rabbi Asher Lopatin from Anshe Sholom Bnei Israel performed the ceremony. In honor of their wedding, the couple sponsored a wedding in Israel through Yad Eliezer.
Howard and Maia Labow announce the marriage of their
son, Yoni, to Danielle Frydman, daughter of Dr. Joseph and Marie Frydman, on
April 28, 2013. Yoni is the grandson of Jackie Labow of Lincolnwood. Danielle is
the granddaughter of Efroim Frydman and Kathryn Testa, both of Chicago. Yoni is
a graduate of Ida Crown Jewish Academy and received a Bachelor of Arts from the
University of Michigan in History and Jewish Studies. Currently, he is the
Marketing Director for National Enrollment Services.
Danielle is a
graduate from Highland Park High School and received a Bachelor of Science from
the University of Wisconsin and is currently finishing her Master's Degree in
Clinical Social Work.
Both Yoni and Danielle are graduates of Solomon
Schechter Day School in Northbrook.
Halle Ritter and Scott Levy were married Nov. 5, 2011, at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago. Rabbi Taron Tachman from Congregation Beth Tikvah in Hoffman Estates performed the ceremony.
Halle, 36, is the director of the Open Door Program for the Illinois Department of Human Services. She is a graduate from Ohio University (BS, Communication) and the University of Michigan (Master of Social Work). Halle was a member of the YLD Board of Directors for four years. Scott, 33, is a manager at the Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Center, a U.S. Department of Labor facility serving 350 at-risk youth. He is a graduate of The George Washington University (BA, Political Science) and Roosevelt University (MBA, Management).
Halle is the daughter of Nadia and Michael Ritter, of Beachwood, Ohio. Scott is the son of Debby Levy, of Long Grove, and the late Barry W. Levy. The reception was held at the Palmer House, with entertainment provided by The Ken Arlen Orchestra. Floral decorations were provided by Richard Remiard Event Design and photography was provided by Rick Aguilar Studios. Sue Primer from Sue Primer I Do was the event planner. The couple enjoyed their honeymoon on Maui and Kauai.
